Common questions
Frequently asked questions
When should I schedule my first prenatal visit?
Contact the clinic after a positive pregnancy test so the team can recommend timing based on your last menstrual period, symptoms, and health history.
Can I ask about medicines or supplements?
Yes. Bring a list of prescription medicines, over-the-counter products, vitamins, and supplements. Do not stop an important medicine without advice from the clinician who prescribed it.
When should I seek urgent care during pregnancy?
Heavy bleeding, severe pain, fainting, difficulty breathing, seizures, or other severe or rapidly worsening symptoms need urgent assessment. Later in pregnancy, concerns such as reduced fetal movement, fluid leakage, or signs of labor should be discussed promptly with your maternity team.
When symptoms are urgent
Severe or rapidly worsening symptoms, heavy bleeding, fainting, chest pain, difficulty breathing, or a possible pregnancy emergency require prompt assessment. Contact local emergency services or go to the nearest emergency department.
